One of the strength of the Institute is its professionally qualified staff in various academic and services providing departments, duly supported by the general administration, accounts section and the ministerial staff. The Institute follows the reservation policy of Government of India and maintains different rosters applicable to various categories. There are 13 persons with disabilities on the staff strength of the Institute. A total of 49 women are working on different ministerial and professional posts. Out of the 163 filled posts during the year 2009-10, 8 were in the group A, 37 in group B, 87 in group C and 31 in the group D.
